Synopsis

From Producer Mimi Polk Gitlin (THELMA & LOUISE), Director Mary Lambert (PET SEMATARY) and music industry giants Glen Ballard and David Foster comes CLUBLAND, a mesmerizing story about an emerging rock star blazing his trail through the trendy Los Angeles club scene. Enjoying the whirlwind of impending success, Kennedy Johnson (JIMMY TUCKETT) falls in love with Sophie Sacks (HEATHER STEPHEN - 'Lost Highway', 'Dante's Peak'). He's torn between this new found true love and the temptations that come with sky-rocketing stardom. Simultaneously his loyalty to his brother (BRAD HUNT - 'Dream With The Fishes', 'Mulholland Falls'), who is his less than competent manager, is tested. Does Kennedy want success at the expense of his two most important relationships? The background of the LA club scene -- sex, music, parties, dreams, corruption and betrayal -- all serve to blur the answers to this question. While being wooed by TERENCE TRENT D'ARBY and STEVEN TYLER (Aerosmith), Kennedy hangs out with India McKenzie (LORI PETTY - 'League Of Their Own', 'Cadillac Man', 'Free Willy') a free-spirited and unpredictable singer from another band. Moving from wild teenager to man, Kennedy faces issues of love, loyalty, success and sibling rivalry, as his world changes around him. In the final moments, Kennedy and India face a fury of music, bullets and passion in their Clubland. Featuring music by hot new acts such as Block, Splashdown, Supple and Zebrahead, and a huge promotional push by Capitol Records and Warner Elektra to coincide with the film's US theatrical release, this film already received a fantastic response at the Boston Film Festival, with teenagers cheering, applauding and singing along. The Boston herald critic called CLUBLAND "..the hippest ticket in town..." and called star Jimmy Tuckett, "a teen idol who will have the young girls racing to the theaters."
